Digitization of ordering coins and banknotes

Albert operates a network of more than 300 supermarkets and food hypermarkets in the Czech Republic. It is one of the largest employers in the Czech Republic. Every day, 17,000 employees take care of customers in stores, distribution centers and at the company's headquarters.


How it began…

As part of their digitization agenda, Albert identified in 2018 a list of manual processes that they will gradually digitize. Together we created a roadmap, created a list of requirements and started work on the first application. We have become a key partner for the digitization process. We gradually transform inefficient manual processes into applications that fully or partially automate the processes. The error rate is minimized, the time for each transaction is accelerated and significant cost savings are achieved.

The challenge...

The first digitization project was the ordering of coins and banknotes to stores between the headquarters and 330 branches throughout the country. Delivery inefficiencies, and duplicate orders were the most common problems the new process had to solve. The aim was to prepare a system that unifies order deadlines and finds erroneous and duplicite orders from stores. At the same time, it was necessary to pay attention to the simplicity and intuitiveness of the system. Both on the part of the sales staff, the company's headquarters as well as the supplier of the distribution of funds.

The solution...

The developed application brings users the opportunity to prepare orders for several days in advance without the need to check the order dates, which is done by the application itself. Users are thus relieved of direct communication with the service provider. If the order date is changed by the supplier, the application responds to these changes and reflects them on already created orders. This way, it is possible to centrally manage communication between the client and the supplier. At the time of sending, the application verifies all orders for the given day from all stores, closes them and sends the output to the supplier.
